64th NORTH CAROLINA GOVERNOR’S CUP REGATTA
Carolina Sailing Club
June 18-20, 2021
Henderson Point Recreation Area
Kerr Lake State Recreation Area, North Carolina
The North Carolina Governor’s Cup Regatta is in its 64th year, making it one of the oldest in the Southeast. The Regatta includes up to five races over two days. Racing takes place off Henderson Point Recreation Area on Kerr Lake which is known for its beautiful expanse of water, tree-lined shores, great family camping, and easy access from Interstate 85. The Carolina Sailing Club, the organizing authority, is currently planning for an event similar to previous years, which includes racing, breakfasts, apres-racing socials, and a traditional dinner meal Saturday night. However, Kerr Lake State Recreation Area is a North Carolina state park and subject to state COVID-19 restrictions. CSC will continue to work with park management to determine if the regatta and associated activities can be held or have to be altered based on restrictions in June. An NOR Amendment and COVID guidance will be provided to competitors prior to opening registration.
