This policy describes what information Carolina Sailing Club ("the Club," "we," "us") collects through its race registration and membership systems, how it is used, and how to reach us with questions.
Information We Collect
We collect mobile phone numbers when you provide one on our race registration form (for race day reminders) or as part of club membership/dues registration (for club update and event announcements).
How We Use Your Phone Number
Your phone number may be used to send you the SMS messages described in our SMS Communications Terms, and may also be used by Club volunteers or officers to contact you directly by phone call regarding club business, races, or your registration. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages, or HELP for assistance.
Text Messaging (SMS)
If you provide a mobile phone number and opt in (or, for the 2026 club-update pilot program, do not opt out after notice), we may send you text messages as described in our SMS Communications Terms & Opt-Out page. Message and data rates may apply.
Third-Party Service Providers
We use third-party services to operate the Club's systems, including:
Data Retention
We do not currently have a fixed data retention schedule. If you would like your phone number removed from our systems, contact us using the information below and we will remove it.

- Twilio — to deliver SMS text messages. Twilio processes phone numbers and message content solely to deliver our messages and is subject to its own privacy policy.
