Sailing Lessons & Junior Sailing in Central NC

It's all about learning how to sail and having fun!

Sailing Lessons & Junior Sailing in Central NC The Carolina Sailing Foundation offers sailing lessons, sailing classes, and racing opportunities for sailing in central North Carolina. We offer sailing camps and lessons for kids, teens, and adults. Our mission is to assist all sailors eight years old and older in learning to sail safely, participating in the sport of sailboat racing and improving sailing and racing skills through our sailing classes.

Adult sailing lessons are taught in Flying Scot sailboats and class material is geared for sailors with little or no experience sailing. The sailing lessons are fun, informative, and engaging. If you’ve always wanted to learn to sail but never had the opportunity, now is your chance.

Junior sailing programs with CSF provide everything from introductory lessons at our sailing camps to advanced race training. Sailors from age 9 through the end of high school fit great into our sailing programs and racing programs. Young sailors compete individually while high school students sail on teams.

Our sailing lessons and races are held in three types of sailboats, depending on age. The three-person Flying Scot is used for adults, the two-person 420 is used for teens, and the one-person Optimist Dinghy is used for young sailors.

CSF's sailing lessons and coaching sessions are held at Lake Wheeler. Other CSF activities include regattas, races and high school programs. Hundreds of sailors and their families have participated in CSF's camps and activities.
